Programme Overview
The LSEG Software Engineering Java Academy Internship offers hands‑on exposure to the cutting‑edge platforms, systems, and engineering practices that power today’s — and tomorrow’s — global financial markets.
Over 9 weeks (July–September), you will:
- work in a collaborative, high‑performance environment
- develop strong foundational software engineering skills
- gain exposure to the full software development lifecycle: requirements → design → coding → testing → deployment
- participate as one unified cohort on interconnected engineering projects
- receive guidance from multiple mentors from across LSEG engineering teams

Engineering Summer Internship Programme (2026)

Our Engineering Summer Internship Programme has been crafted to simulate our Engineering Graduate Programme so that you can understand what a career in technology at LSEG would really be like.
To be eligible, you must be a penultimate year undergraduate due to complete your degree summer 2027 and studying a ‘STEM’ subject (science, technology, engineering or mathematics).
During your time with us you will have the opportunity to explore potential careers paths by working within our D&A Engineering, Markets functions. Roles can vary from development and programming to business analysis and tech project management. During the recruitment process we will get to know your skills and interest and how they align with the needs of the business to place you in the right team.
These are real roles. Our 9 weeks summer interns play a part in the success of our organisation, just like they would do as a graduate.
What we are looking for:
We are passionate about recruiting people who are interested in pursuing a career within Technology and would like to learn about the full breadth of our business – and are interested in playing a part of our development, as it grows and diversifies.
- You will have an interest in technology demonstrated either via your work experience, extracurricular activities, or academic studies. For instance, you may be part of a Computing Society, have taught yourself how to code or have focused on technology as part of a university project.
- You should be interested in financial markets and how technology supports our business.
- A curiosity for data and an ability to analyse information to draw conclusions and propose solutions.
