You will closely work with a highly experienced, international, cross functional team of engineers. Your role includes

Design, develop, test embedded applications and algorithm libraries both pre and post silicon;

Implement and performance-tune parallel programming framework on embedded platforms and multi-core architectures.

Evaluate state of the art deep learning, driver identification, Predictive Maintenance algorithms;

Your profile

University degree in a technical field such as: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.

Experienced in programming with modern C/C++.

Experience developing software on embedded systems with an HLOS, cross-compilation.

Solid mathematical background. Can demonstrate good understanding or relevant experience with opensource projects like eigen/BLAS/ROS.

Skilled in oral and written communication in English.

Attentive to details, self-motivated and able to be a team player while working independently.

To be successful in this role you have:

Prior experience with Deep Learning framework, training, or optimization

Understanding of parallel programming languages and frameworks, CUDA, OpenCL.

Use of Neural Network compilers, TVM, Glow.

Experience with using or contributing to an open-source software project,

As Solutions engineer

you will build a portfolio of automotive reference solutions targeted for connectivity and electrification;

you will be using the full (“from firmware to cloud”) software vertical on various environments (Autosar, FreeRTOS) provided either by NXP or selected partners (Amazon, Elektrobit, …);

you will interact from a technical standpoint with various software teams (in and out of NXP).

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible with all phases of software development ranging from: design and coding to integrating and reviewing software components, from testing and bug fixing to documentation, building and presenting demos to stakeholders;

You’ll be working using an Agile approach and effectively use the concept of continuous integration as a key part of an efficient software development process;

After ramping up into the team’s portfolio and processes, you will be responsible with addressing tasks from the product backlog which can range from: prototyping concepts, new feature development, porting feature to a new platform, bug fixing, enhancing the continuous integration, writing user documentation.

Your team

Automotive solutions team is a software development team which delivers complex applications for NXP automotive platforms.

The team is well balanced having a good mix of senior, intermediate and junior engineers.

Your profile

To be successful in this role you have:

Robust software architecture: design patterns, best practices, optimizations techniques;

Capable of traversing and combining mix of technologies such as: low-level drivers, middleware, various OSs (both real-time and non real-time), user space tools and libraries;

Proficient in programming (C mostly, but other structured languages such as C++, Java fit also in);

Good scripting know-how (python, bash, groovy, makefiles);

Relevant experience in developing applications for the (general and automotive) embedded;

Excellent problem-solving skills;

Good fluency in English written and spoken;

Reasonable technical presentation skills.

Furthermore, you have:

Understanding of embedded software architectures;

Excellent prototyping and debugging skills;

A strong mindset towards efficiency, optimization and performance;

Support the creation of requirements, design, architecture, configuration, code and tests for different parts of the product of the Real Time OS group. Your responsibilities

Design, develop, test and optimize AI/ML software for embedded NXP hardware.

Investigate, prototype and enable latest innovations in AI/ML.

Follow SW quality standards and best practices.

Your team

As a member of our team, you will extend your practical experience on neural network architectures, model inference, optimization and deployment on embedded systems. As part of your daily activities you will create, test and maintain code for deploying neural networks on NXP hardware like microcontrollers (MPU), general purpose microprocessors (MCU) or specialized neural processing unit (NPU) using open source or proprietary software inference frameworks.

You will work with and learn from recognized AI/ML technical leaders. You will learn in depth about modern AI/ML algorithms such as Transformers and ChatGPT.

You will contribute to the development of the software stack for the first NPU built inside NXP, called eIQ Neutron. More details here and here.

The local MLTEC-RO team in Bucharest has 10 team members ranging from juniors and interns to senior developers. The team is passionate and young, with an average age of around 30 years.

Basic C and C++ programming skills

The car suffers a suite of major transformations, and it is moving more and more towards a software defined product. Electrification, different levels of autonomy in the driving which mean a safer to drive car along with huge volume of data which will be exchanged between the car and various cloud services or within the car domains, are transforming the car into a very different product than it is today. This is history in the making and NXP provides the processors for these transformations.

A lot of enablement software is needed to have all these features working reliable and our team, NXP Automotive Processors System Tools team, is in charge with the development of software tools meant to make configuration of drivers or other applications running on top of NXP processors simple, intuitive, reliable, and fast.

We develop software tools starting from C-embedded programming all the way to complex solutions running on top of MATLAB/Simulink. All our tools have a clear goal of making programming of the NXP processors simple for our customers. All the complexity we handle behind the scenes.

As the products are complex and many (more than 20 tools are currently under active development) we are a large team with a global spread and complex development processes.
